Patrick Creek Community Services District is a special services district which was formed by homeowners who joined together to monitor the wells which provided water to them, and to pool their money to pave and maintain the road. In August of 1969, the Special-Purpose District status was sought and the Humboldt County Board of Directors approved the formation of the district. The residents voted to tax themselves to provide money to provide clean water and maintain the roadway. Later, the district arranged for water to be provided by the Mckinleyville Community Services District. The road continues to be maintained by the residents who tax themselves to pay for road paving and improvements.
The district is zoned Single Family Residential and is in the Coastal Zone.
In short, our small district is a volunteer organization comprising the residents of our homes here on the bluff above Clam Beach.
The district is governed by a board of directors, elected by community members. The board meets four times a year. The agenda, dates, and time of the meeting are announced in advance. Anyone wishing to place anything on the agenda need only to contact the President. All are welcome to attend. The County of Humboldt manages the tax monies collected from the homeowners. At the quarterly meetings, the elected board makes decisions regarding the needs of the community road and has the authority to allocate money for needed repairs and projects.
